Your information

Privacy policy

How we handle the personal information you give us, written in plain English. Last updated 10 August 2026.

Who we are

This website is run by Rockshore Building Group Ltd, a family-run building company based at 51 Northbrook Road, Worthing, West Sussex. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

You can reach us by phone on 01903 411992, by mobile on 07949 172906 or by email at rockshore_building@outlook.com.

What information we collect

We only collect what we need to answer you and price the work. That is:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • Details of your project, including the property address, what you want done and when
  • Anything else you choose to send us, such as drawings, planning references or photographs

You give us this information when you fill in the enquiry form on this site, email us, ring us, message us on WhatsApp, or contact us through Facebook or Checkatrade. We do not buy contact lists and we do not collect sensitive personal data.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit, prepare a quote, and if you go ahead, to plan and carry out the work and invoice you for it. If the job needs building control approval, we may need to pass relevant details to the local authority as part of that process.

Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are:

  • Steps prior to entering into a contract. When you ask us to quote, we need your details to do it.
  • Legitimate interests. Running and administering a building business, keeping records of jobs and quotes, and answering questions about work we have carried out.
  • Legal obligation. Keeping accounting and tax records, and meeting health and safety or building-control requirements.

We do not send marketing emails or newsletters, and we do not use your details for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with anyone for marketing. The only parties who may handle it are the suppliers we need to run the business, for example the company that hosts this website, the service that delivers enquiry-form messages to our inbox, and our email provider. They act on our instructions and may only use the information to provide their service.

Where a job requires it, we may share limited details with the local-authority building inspector, a structural engineer, or a supplier delivering materials to your property. We will tell you if that is needed. We may also disclose information where the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

If you enquire and we do not end up working together, we keep your enquiry for up to two years in case you come back to us, then delete it. If we carry out work for you, we keep the job and financial records for at least six years, because tax law and the time limits for construction claims require it.

You can ask us to delete your details sooner and we will do so unless we are legally required to keep them.

Keeping your information safe

Enquiries sent through this site are transmitted over an encrypted connection. Messages and job records are held in password-protected accounts and are only seen by the people in the business who need them. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.

Cookies and this website

This site does not set advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. Any cookies or similar storage used are there to make the site work properly.

If a page includes content embedded from another company, for example a map, a video, or a Checkatrade or Facebook widget, that third party may set its own cookies and collect information about your visit under its own privacy policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of some sites may then not work as intended.

Our site links to other places, including our Facebook page and our Checkatrade profile. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your data. Please read their privacy policies before sharing information with them.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Rectification, so we correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
  • Erasure of your information, where we have no legal reason to keep it
  • Restriction of how we use it while a query is sorted out
  • Object to us using your information on the basis of legitimate interests
  • Portability, receiving your information in a commonly used electronic format

Exercising these rights is free. Write to us at 51 Northbrook Road, Worthing, West Sussex, or email rockshore_building@outlook.com, and we will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first so we do not hand your details to someone else.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. This policy was last updated on 10 August 2026.
